Supramolecular Enginering with Macromolecules: A Novel Approach to Block Copolymers

Abstract:

Metallo-supramolecular AB block copolymers are the first examples of macromolecular engineeering. A new concept for the formation of block copolymers by a supramolecular approach is presented. For this purpose the authors utilized an asymmetrical bis(terpyridine)–ruthenium complex as the supramolecular linkage between the two blocks.
